Prospective Artists, Comedians and Speakers...
SMG College Booking Agency is accepting new talent through online submissions ONLY. Please refrain from mailing any unsolicited materials to our office unless specifically requested to do so by an agent.
We will need the following submission materials emailed to newtalent@sphinxmg.com:
• A clear professionally edited video of at least 5-10 minutes of clean COLLEGE APPROPRIATE MATERIAL (we strongly suggest that you edit your video, put your best material first)
• A current and accurate biography.
• One (1) 8” x 10” hi-res color glossy photo.
• A list of college dates performed during the past two years.
• One (1) copy of any additional materials, including performance reviews.
• One (1) copy or materials indicating a presence in college media or other media.
If you would like to know if we received your materials, feel free to email us 2-4 weeks after sending your materials. Please DO NOT CALL to follow up. Due to the number of clients we represent, taking calls would prohibit us from providing outstanding service to our customers and current artists. Please be patient with our process. We assume that artists who are difficult or demanding of our time during the intake process would not fit into our low maintenance philosophy. If we are interested after we have reviewed your promotional materials, we will contact you.
A new artist to the college market should anticipate that it takes at least a year to begin building momentum. Success in the college market does not occur overnight. Therefore you must be patient and set realistic expectations.
Note: Due to the countless unsolicited materials from new talent, there is no guarantee that SMG can watch everyone's submitted online material.
National Association for Campus Activities (NACA)
SMG is an associate member of NACA. NACA is comprised of seven regions each conducting their own conference and a national conference held in February of each year. New artists to the roster will be required to apply for a showcase to at least three (3) or more regional conferences.
