Bradd Young
Just exactly who is Bradd Young? If it were legal to clone Prince, Deangelo, Michael Jackson, P. Diddy and Al Green by combining their DNA to create a super child, his name would be Bradd Young. This R&B/Hip-Hop inspired music powerhouse defies age and defines class with his blend of hot beats and jazzed keys. Bradd Young a.k.a. "The One" can blaze with the best of them while remaining true to his R&B roots. From classic soul and funk to underground and above, Bradd's production quality and intoxicating vocals, keep the people dancing! With humble beginnings in St. Louis, Bradd didn't settle for less when it came to pursuing a career in music. By age 16, Bradd was putting together tracks for Epic Records & Heineken's Red Star Sounds soundtrack.
A consummate performer and perfectionists, Bradd does not hesitate to stimulate his audience with playful jargon and tight dance routines. As a matter of fact, Bradd is one of the few solo artists in the industry that still fuses precise choreography with song, making him versatile on stage. A magnetic yet mystical personality, Bradd has managed to keep himself grounded by supporting other artists as they try to get to the next level. Make no mistake, when it comes to the music, Bradd is all about business. Along with his production partner Prettyboy, they manage, produce and develop a stable of extreme talent. They have also worked with industry giants such as, Akon, Teddy Riley, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Kelly Rowland, Maino, Jibbs, Tyra B, Yolanda Adams, Yo Gotti & Nelly & The St. Lunatics. This is Bradd Young. Please believe he is The One! He's as electric on wax as he is in person! He has the personality of a 16 story rollercoaster ride and vocal chords plated in platinum! This musical guru is destined to be our next revolutionary leader!
Bradd Young is not easily swayed when it comes to his beliefs and values and he prides himself on his musical influences. Being intrigued by the vocal talents of many gospel greats encouraged Bradd to make sense of his gift. When he was 14, a friend heard him singing to himself on a school bus. This friend talked him into singing Bell Biv Devo's "Let Me See You Smile Again" to a group of girls.
After completing the song, the response from the girls was as addicting as a truckload of nicotine. Bradd's life as a musician officially kicked off.
At 24 years old, Bradd Young seems to be an old soul many years ahead of his time. In an age where people are more concerned about themselves and their own personal development, Bradd is concerned about the development of his generation and their interests in R&B & Hip Hop. Bradd hopes to completely change the way the industry operates by creating a movement. A “ROCKHOUSE MUSIC” movement. RockHouse is the record company co-owned and operated by this young musician and entrepreneur. It is a company that promotes artist creativity and ownership. RockHouse promotes individuality in the music world. “Our company tagline is, (We follow history, never trends.) When we say history, we are referring to the greats, such as Motown, Def Jam & Laface. That’s the level we want to ascend to.” My partner Prettyboy and I are very much like L.A. Reid & Babyface. We are both creative individuals with great minds for business.” Bradd's vision of RockHouse is more than a dream and is now a force to be reckoned with.
In 2001, at just 16 years of age, Bradd Young's vision was realized. While visiting a studio in Downtown St. Louis where he was producing tracks for a newly signed Warner Brothers artist, a mutual friend and talent scout introduced him to the Vice President of A&R for Epic Records. He was impressed by Bradd's mere presence and the fact that he was a self-contained artist. From there, a relationship was formed, and 2 days later, Bradd was on a plane to New York to ink a major deal with the label. Weeks later, he was in the studio creating masterpieces for 2 major projects including Grammy Award winners Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Nelly Furtado to name a few. Although the deal with Epic went sour before Bradd was able to record an album, the experience of being signed to a major label proved to have a positive and lasting effect on Bradd.
He took everything he learned during this time and applied it in a positive way, empowering him as an artist, writer and producer. This is where his revolution for the movement erupted.
With head-banging tracks, persuasive lyrics, and melodies full of life and color, any project produced, written or performed by this rising star will undoubtedly be critiqued as nothing less than phenomenal.
So again we ask, "Who is Bradd Young?" And he'll answer, "I Am The One!"
